If all the beasts were gone, Man would die from great loneliness of Spirit. For what ever happens to the beasts..... Also happens to Man. All things are connected. What befalls the earth..... Befalls the children of the earth..... Chief Seattle 1786-1866 Sugwamish & Duwamish |

Thoughts That Warm The SoulFrom a Licensed Wildlife Rehablilatator |
| Not long ago I was asked if I wanted to watch surgery on a pelican that had ingested a fish hook. As I observed, I found myself watching the cardiac monitor, having had a past of monitor tech work I was captivated and a bit taken back ..... The monitor strip looked like ours (human)! I thought to myself "what did I think it was going to look like." Then the revelatation hit me .... Awsome .... The same spark that starts the heart must be the same ... We are all the creatures of the earth.... together..... The bird did not make it... but the lesson learned will stay with me forever..... |

Many people complained that the ducks were ugly and noisey... "They make such a mess...and they are dirty and we want them out of our beautiful area". My thoughts on the subject were... "It does not matter if its an eagle or an ant?" and we went about finding a home for the misunderstood quackers.... Isn't life strange? We found that the patients at our local hospice were happy to give them a home on their beautiful pond. Their time on this earth was limited and the creature that was not wanted was indeed a gift of life to another... |
